It’s crunch time this weekend. There are only eight games left in the pool round. Only four of them matter. Here are the big matches that will either send teams through to the quarters or break the hearts of millions of fans back home:
Fri 28th (9pm) – England versus Tonga (oh please, oh please, let it be Tonga!)
Sat 29th (5pm) – Wales versus Fiji (see you later Fiji; thanks for coming)
Sat 29th (9pm) – Scotland versus Italy (the Scots will win)
Sun 30th (5pm) – Ireland versus Argentina (get the Guinness ready lads, you’ll be needing it to cry in)
And just for closure, here are the four games that don’t matter:
Saturday, 1pm – New Zealand vs Romania (I didn’t even know Romania had a rugby team!)
Saturday, 3pm – Australia vs Canada (can “sensational” Berrick Barnes take Larkham’s No.10 jumper away permanently?)
Sunday, 3pm – France vs Georgia (the only question is whether France will get a bonus point, finish top of the pool and avoid Death by All Black the following week)
Sunday, 8pm – South Africa vs USA (watch Habana as he goes for the try-scoring record; yes, that’s what he said he came to do)
Send us your thoughts on the chances of getting a few upsets!
